Getting Exercise While Getting Things Finished

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Charlene and I have been working oh-so-hard to work things right in our worlds. When my third spousal relationship finished, (and let’s just say it “ended,” mmm’kay?) I only knew it had become time to make a shift. Not only some change, I am talking a serious shift, honey.

But it only looks like everyone wishes to keep me down. Life is so rough, isn’t it? When I saw my physician to talk about the tummy tuck price I was quoted, he only lectured me about getting the right form of fitness. He recognizes I have been doing everything I can, smearing on the scar zone cream and making all my salon supplies to earn their cost.

Yet he only continues lecturing me about diet and exercise, saying to me that my body would improve over the long term if I handle it as if I love it.

He is strong on biking, but I told him cycling seats chafe me and I just cannot imagine putting on those tight bicycling shirts. Is he attempting to abase me? At least he became a bit more reasonable when he started talking about things I could do in the solace of my own home.

Stationary bikes may certainly function easier for me than riding out in public and weight benches and exercise mat are a bit more my speed.

Yet I likewise feel that I obtain enough fitness in my daily life. Only last week I got lots of exercise pushing around Charlene’s garden cart as we decorated her yard for her sister’s birthday party. Rearranging the outdoor bench layout for open-air party seating after moving the Weber Charcoal Grill made for some strong weight lifting. And then the stretches and effort necessary to get all those position proper was like aerobics.

Does it sound like I am making excuses? I do not care, girlfriend, that was hard work! After all that decorating and partying I bet I burned one thousand calories. I challenge some treadmill jogging fool to push garden carts around for three hours and see how they feel.

I do not mean to seem whiney. I’ll get it all in concert. I simply wish people would occasionally center on what I’ve finished instead of what I still need to do. I know it is not easy being you, but it is not easy being me, either. We all got to work strong to be happy, I guess.

Street Markets in Costa Blanca

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Street markets are great places to shop, watch the locals and while away a few hours in busy pavement cafe. But especially if you’re new to the Spanish Costa Blanca, knowing where to find them can be a bit of a minefield. Listings are usually given in the local free papers, but you have to be able to find copies in the first place and they tend to be snapped up by ex-pats fairly quickly!

Most street markets take place in the morning, starting around 10am and finishing around 2pm. Those annotated “pm” are afternoon markets usually starting around 5pm. The Spanish concept of the afternoon is a little different from ours and it extends into what we’d call the evening.

There are markets, craft fairs and the like at other locations too, such as Castillo Conesa

On Mondays there are street markets in:

Santa Pola, San Pedro del Pinatar

Tuesdays in:

Orihuela, Benijofar, San Fulgencio, Mil Palmeras (pm), Benidorm

Wednesdays in:

Algorfa, Guardamar, La Mata, San Miguel de Salinas

Thursdays in:

Rojales, San Javier, Bigastro, Urb La Marina, Alicante

Fridays in:

Dolores, Torrevieja, Daya Vieja, Los Montesinos (pm), Pilar de la Horadada (pm)

Saturdays in:

Urb Playa Flamenca, Almoradi

And finally Sundays in:

Urb La Marina, Zoco (Quesada), Benidorm

Unusually, there is a ‘street’ market that opens all week, Monday to Friday; it’s the British Indoor Market at Formentera which is quite a big affair.

Term Life cover

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Do not procrastinate when sorting out life cover.  There are lots of alternative types to identify from.  Research the terminology.

Once you have dependents of your own you wonder about what will happen to them after you cease to live.  It will occur, so be strong and identify how life cover works.  You should probably save finances if you identify the most suitable one for your needs, and that can’t be bad.

Most insurance providers offer simple term insurance which pays your named individuals if you die by a identified date, but if you outlive the ‘deadline’ there is no financial benefit!  The time period of the policy is stylised to suit your needs.
This is the cheapest type of life protection although prices are often more for males as their ideal life span is is more reduced than ladies.  As usual, financial costs for smokers are more again.

The details of term insurance are often different.  A level term plan shells out when you stop living and the level of benefit does not differ throughout the period.  The option stops at the end of the timescale and has no value at the end.  This type of option is ideal to cover loan or residential repayments, especially interest-only house loans which do not fall throughout the loan.

A diminishing term cover plan is where the death benefit falls throughout the term and ceases to exist when the policy gets to the end of the specified time period.  When arranging a repayment home loan where the capital size diminishes throughout the time period of the loan, this type of mortgage protection is often committed to and costs a smaller amount than level term cover.

A different course of action, which is often about 10% more expensive than level term, is convertible term insurance.  This translates that at the end of the specified time period of your initial plan you must ‘convert’ it into a different type, Eg an endowment or a whole-of-life option.
Some insurance is not an option if you are in an uncertain state of health, but with this type you cannot justifiably be refused a new policy even if that is the case.  However, your age and sex will determine the level of the new premiums and they will in nearly all cases be an increased amount.

There are regulations regarding conversion and you most certainly must be aware that the monetary value identified when you convert has to be an identical figure as on the original insurance scheme.  An additional feature to note is that you are required to convert prior to the end of your initial term.

critical illness insurance do as they say and increase the insurance pay off over the agreed time scale, say by five to ten percent, which should cover you against rising prices.  Generally, by the time you reach 66 you are not allowed to further inflate the sum insured.

Partners often purchase joint cover plans so that family income benefit payments start as soon as the first 1 dies.  This is awarded on a regular basis until the end of the specified time period of the protection plan and can be a specific level or can make an ascending income, depending on the agreement you have agreed to. The time span of these policies is often stylised to provide financial support until the family have have left home.

Vitamin and Mineral Supplements for Sleeping

Vitamin & Mineral Supplements that Aid Sleeping

Adding vitamins and minerals to your existing diet, may help you find relief from sleeplessness. You may be one of those people who are not getting enough of certain vitamins and minerals that are needed for sleeping well. If you have a deficiency, one of these nutritional supplements may help:

Calcium. Too little calcium in your diet can cause the inability to sleep. Combine a daily 600mg supplement with food for the best effect.

Magnesium. A deficiency in magnesium can cause nervousness resulting in shallow sleeping and the inability to stay asleep. A supplement of 250g taken daily, or the addition of magnesium-rich foods such as almonds, kelp and wheat bran can help.

Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine). Vitamin B-6 is needed to produce the levels of serotonin required by the body to trigger sleep. The recommended dosage of B-6 is 50-100mg daily, and can be taken in nutritional yeast form and mixed into a glass of fruit juice.

Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin). If you don’t get enough B-12, you may experience grogginess, confusion, or memory loss, and insomnia. B-12 is often combined with B-5, and is found naturally in wheat germ, bananas, peanuts and sunflower seeds. If taken as a supplement, the recommended dosage is 25mg per day.

Vitamin B-5 (pantothenic acid). Too little B-5 can cause insomnia and tiredness. Vitamin B-5 works as an anxiety reducer, and a daily dose of 100mg is recommended.

Folic acid. The synthetic supplement of folic acid is processed by the body more effectively than folic acid found in nature. Too little folic acid can cause insomnia. Foods containing folic acid include leafy roughage, orange juice, beans and fortified breakfast cereal. The recommended dosage is 400mg per day.

Copper. According to a recent study, pre-menopausal women with a deficiency in copper commonly have difficulty falling asleep. In this study, women taking 2mg of copper daily fell asleep quicker and felt more refreshed when waking. A good way to include more copper in your diet is by eating cooked oysters and lobster.

GenF20. One of the best options in aiding the ability to sleep is taking Human Growth Hormone supplements. When you take these HGH supplements, you do not literally consume actual growth hormones. Instead, what you take in are “precursors” that aid the pituitary gland to produce hormones that are helpful in maintaining the human body in the peak of its performance state. In particular, the GenF20 HGH Releaser supplement uses Glutamine, Ornithine, and Arginine all of which belong under the “L” amino acids group in aiding the pituitary gland. One of the benefits is better sleeping.

A balanced diet is the best way to combat most vitamin deficiencies. You can try adding a few vitamin or mineral supplements to see if you notice a substantial difference. If you do not see a notable change, stop supplementing and focus on eating well and exercising regularly.

Reciprocal Linking is Bad for Your Business Website Health

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

As small business owners, we need to find traffic for our websites from wherever we can get it — assuming, of course, that the source is relevant traffic. Irrelevant traffic actually HURTS your website rank in the search engines so we don’t want that. For that reason, we are not fans of reciprocal linking schemes, link farms, etc.

Case in point. I recently met with a new client in Los Angeles who needed to market their small business website. They had previously enjoyed a Page Rank of 5 for their website. Over the past two years, it has dropped to a Page Rank of 3. This was due to a number of factors, but chief among those was the fact that they had been forced into a reciprocal linking arrangement with an unscrupulous vendor. It benefited the vendor tremendously, as they were able to show the search engines that their site was being ranked to from a PR5 website; it made the vendor’s site more “buoyant” (it made it rank higher) in the search engines. The moral of the story is, be very careful if someone offers to do you the “favor” of creating a link to your site, in exchange to linking from yours. It could be detrimental to your website’s Search Engine health.

Nevertheless, you should look for opportunities to receive links from relevant websites whenever possible. It might not seem fair to “take” a link without giving one back, but there are other ways you can help the linking website. If they have a satellite website, you could consider linking to that in the body of one of your posts — relevant topic / contextual link / deep link to the satellite site. Just be careful that the link partner understands that directly linking from the satellite site to their main site will not be nearly as good as if they link in a broad circle of 10 sites before returning to the main site. This is somewhat sophisticated SEO / linking strategy that we’re sharing, so it’s not for everyone to implement on their own. It also implies that you have up to 10 web properties that are all somewhat related that can be daisy chained together… Again, not for everyone. But definitely for businesses that want to insure being on Page 1 on Google. ;)

It requires a lot of time, attention and planning to implement a 10-site daisy chain strategy, and we encourage you to go into that with plenty of forethought. Take the time to not only analyze and eliminate any chance of reciprocal linking or neighbor linking possibilities in the chain, and also insure that whomever in your organization will be managing your website network understands this strategy. A small business SEO Policy is a very smart investment in resources. It takes relatively little time for a website to fall in page rank, and a significantly greater amount of time to gain rank — especially after it is lost.

The underlying issue of Page Rank has been said to be overrated, and it’s largely a symbol of the site’s overall bouyancy in the search engines… it’s not necessarily a goal for a web owner to achieve a particular page rank; it’s more of a barometer or guideline than a definitive benchmark or landing point. The website owner with a page rank of 0 would certainly agree that a page rank of 5 would represent that his/her traffic has achieved more traffic (visitors), more conversions and more leads & sales. That’s really the benchmark we’re aiming for.

How Do Online Associations and Forums Work

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

An online community or forum is a group of individuals who interact with each other using the internet for educational, technical, social or other purposes. While in online community the users may remain relatively stranger with no bond between them in forums individual form a bond with their shared common interests.

Earlier, Yahoo groups and Google groups provided means to form communities and through chat rooms helped people to discuss topics based on common personal interest. But now days there are many social networking sites and blogs which have expanded the virtual communities further by each becoming a community on its own. Most of the online communities follow a similar life cycle wherein each participant starts off as an observer. After a while they become novice then they start interacting in the community. After a certain period of time by constant participation they become a regular and later on a leader where his opinions are treated with greater respect and he provides more suggestions and ideas. After a long time the participant may decide to leave the community for varied reasons like change of interest or a busy schedule and hence he becomes an elder.

Forums are governed and maintained by group of individuals known as moderators or administrators. To become a member of forum a person usually has to fill a registration form giving their personal details. Some forums allow user to remain anonymous. There are rules and policy to be followed for continuous participation in a forum. If forum policy is not adhered to there are several steps which are taken like issuing preliminary warning followed by short term ban and permanent ban, IP blocking if the offence is repeated. The forum consists of a tree like directory structure with threads with post within them at the lowest end. Thread is generally a topic around which the whole discussion is based. All members of the forum can participate in the thread by writing post which is nothing but a participants message in a block along with his details along with his participation history. All the member content is monitored by moderator who keeps the forum clean by deleting inappropriate content, manages it, provided topics for discussion, and provides answers to user queries related to forum or the topic concerned. The administrators deal with smooth running of the forums. Their responsibility can include promoting member to moderator or vice versa, make forum rules and policies, maintain database or make decision regarding the appearance of the forum.

Online community or forum is most likely to succeed if they address the immediate real world needs of its members and has topics which make it unique from others.

Rollers that come in multi-packs sold at a dollar are not advisable to buy. It is more advisable to prefer better commercial tools.
