Planning The Best Hawaii Wedding

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Getting married in a far away destination, such as Hawaii, is appealing to many couples. If you’re thinking of a Hawaii wedding, then you’ll have to be sure to plan everything out well. Planning any wedding is hard work, but a destination wedding where you cannot physically oversee everything is even harder. Therefore it’s a good idea to have someone in Hawaii to help you out such as a Hawaii wedding planner.

Arranging a destination wedding always presents problems, and Hawaii weddings offer as many problems as any other. However, if you know how to use the internet, you can overcome many of these problems, such as getting the guests and the priest there at the right time, organizing the entertainment, the transport and even making sure that the cake is there at the right time and place for the cutting.

Another item you’ll need to consider is flying the wedding party to Hawaii. You’ll need to make sure everyone is there on time. It’s best to make reservations well in advance to insure everyone can be on the same flight together. Then you will want to arrange airport transportation so everyone can stay together.

You have no time to relax or do anything but make sure that the wedding dresses and those for the bridesmaids are delivered on time to the right place. If you have page boys or flower girls then their clothes also have to be selected and their delivery assured. You could save a lot of that by purchasing an ‘off the peg’ dress, but why do that if you want your dress designed as you want it? In any case, it might not fit you when arrive to collect it.

For dresses made in your home town, you have to have them flown and then steamed when they arrive. Be sure to send the dresses down a week or two before the wedding so that there are no delays.

When planning Hawaiian weddings, it is advisable to speak to the staff of the hotel where you are holding your reception. If you are staying there overnight you should speak to them and get to know them. They will then be more amenable to helping you out when you have a problem, such as the best local wedding planner (the hotel can also likely help) or any other issue you have with your wedding.

One of the most important people attending your wedding, apart from the officiant marrying you, is the photographer. Make sure your photographer is arranged well in advance or you will be relying on friends and relatives for your wedding photographs. Also, a local photographer will know the best places for your photo sessions.

How Hawaii Travel Packages Save you Money

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Hawaii travel packages can save you money, and also save you time in making your own holiday plans. A package deal to Hawaii can be the answer to your prayers if you want an exotic vacation at as low a price as possible. Package deals are available for a number of different islands or just a single island if you have a favorite.

If you haven’t visited Hawaii before, you should stick to just one island because that is the best way to experience what Hawaii has to offer. There’s not a great deal between them, but if you island hop you might miss out a lot. Those who travel between islands know the state well, and know the best times to be on each island.

In order to figure out which islands are offering you the most, we will give a little bit of information on each island. Hopefully it will help you get the right Hawaii travel package.

The most popular is the Big Island of Hawaii offering you some great beaches and surfing, and also the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This is where you will be awed by the power of Kilauea, the most active volcano in the entire world. You can take a hike through some fabulous rainforests or try some deep sea fishing. The Kailua-Kona coast is famous for its fishing, but if you prefer something more active then enjoy scuba diving in the clear blue waters surrounding the island.

If you like scenery, and want something that you have likely never seen before, then try the island of Maui. It is known as ‘Valley Island’ and offers some marvelous scenery such as Lao Valley and the Haleakala Crater. Don’t forget your camera or you will kick yourself!

Another fantastic island stop is Lanai, where you will find the Garden of the Gods among several other things to see. It’s smaller than the other islands and has two resorts, either of which are a great place for family vacations.

If swimming and diving appeals to you, then the ‘Friendly Isle’ is for you. Its real name is Molokai, and it is relatively underdeveloped compared to the other Hawaiian islands. You should put this on your list of Hawaiian travel packages if you want a quiet peaceful vacation with lots of water to play in.

Then there is the island that many think is Hawaii – Oahu, ‘The Gathering Place’. It is well named because everybody seems to come here – it is, after all, the main island, containing Honolulu, Waikiki and Pearl Harbor. Even if you prefer the quiet of Lanai or Molokai, you have to take a trip here just to say you have been.

Finally, we come to the last island in this short tour of Hawaii. Last but by no means least, because it is Kauai, a magnificent display of natural beauty offering what Mark Twain called ‘The Grand Canyon of the Pacific’: Waimea Canyon. It also offers the Pacific Ocean fronted by the 1,000 foot cliffs of the Napali Coast, and some fabulous waterfalls. This is truly a feast of natural beauty, and you can sit and enjoy it on one of its many beaches that boasts the most wonderful climate in the world.
